UV-A METER/TUBE TESTER UV tubes stop emitting ultra violet light long before their visible light output declines - you can't tell merely by looking at them! The ADVANCED SYSTEMS UV-A meter measures the ultra violet light output of Electric Fly Killers. Using the latest in optics and electronics, it gives an instant indication of tube effectiveness and remaining life, telling you at a glance if they need to be replaced. Used by Pest Controllers, EFK suppliers, EFK users and Environmental Health Officers. Simple two-button operation and an LED readout allow you to establish whether the otherwise invisible UV output from the machine is good, marginal or insufficient. Ambient UV from direct and reflected sunlight reduces EFK effectiveness by distracting flying insects, in which case its power needs to be correspondingly greater and tubes will lose their attracting ability earlier. The UV-A METER measures any background UV and AUTOMATICALLY compensates for it in the EFK output reading, without the need for calculations. When surveying a site for installation, the UV-A METER can be used to determine ambient UV levels and optimum EFK output and location. The UV-A METER is very rugged and is designed to be carried in a tool bag or pocket. Power output, and therefore the effectiveness of UV tubes, varies with distance. The test should be carried out with the UV-A METER pointed directly at the EFK from a distance corresponding to its total nominal output: The Meter switches itself off 30 seconds after the last reading and battery life is in excess of 200 hours of operation. An early "low battery imminent" warning allows several hours of further use before the Meter needs to be returned for the batteries to be changed. Features
