Zygos Hotel in Paleohora

The small town of Paleohora is situated on a narrow peninsula of south west Crete so that one side of the town overlooks a large bay with sandy beach and the other side overlooks another bay with a pebble beach. There's a marina and the main industries are fishing, olive growing and tourism.

The Zygos hotel is owned and run by Vangelis Sarikakis and family who all speak English. The bar and cafe are open all day and evening to provide you with drinks, snacks and light meals. You can choose between English breakfast or Greek dishes.

Three Internet computers are available with an ISDN 128k broadband connection so, for just 1 Euro per half-hour, you may use them to keep in touch with home or office.

All rooms have comfortable beds and furniture, including a kitchen area with sink, cooking hob and cupboards. The bathroom has a modern W.C., shower and sink, with cold and hot water. A television with satellite TV reception of many European stations (including BBC World) lets you keep up with the news at home. Air conditioning is available at extra cost. However, Paleohora delights in cool sea breezes which make air conditioning unnecessary most of the time.

The garden area provides many shaded areas where you can sit or lie, to read or talk.
